Investors with a long-term perspective can consider it, but they should keep in mind that its high exposure to mid-caps makes it vulnerable to swings in the short term. Going by its past performance, ICICI Prudential Tax Plan has delivered stupendous returns in market rallies, especially in 2009 and 2010. However, a high exposure to midcap stocks has impacted the scheme's performance in downturns as is reflected in 2008 and 2011.
